Plagiarism and AI Use Policy

Plagiarism Policy

OneHealth Plus Journal is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or other forms of research misconduct. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works and must appropriately acknowledge and cite the ideas, words, data, findings, images, tables, and other materials obtained from previously published or unpublished sources.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the direct reproduction of another person's words without appropriate quotation and citation, substantial paraphrasing without proper attribution, presenting another person's ideas or findings as one's own, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate reuse of previously published material. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources used in their manuscripts are properly cited and that the submitted work does not contain inappropriate textual or intellectual overlap with other publications.

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism and similarity-detection software, including iThenticate, Turnitin, or other appropriate tools. The journal may use a similarity threshold as an initial screening criterion; however, a similarity percentage is not considered in isolation. The Editorial Office may examine the nature, extent, location, and sources of identified similarities when determining whether a manuscript contains inappropriate overlap.

If plagiarism or significant inappropriate similarity is identified during the initial screening or peer-review process, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for clarification or correction, rejected, or subjected to further editorial investigation depending on the seriousness of the concern. Where plagiarism or research misconduct is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other appropriate editorial notice and may take further action where necessary.

Authors are also responsible for ensuring that manuscripts submitted to OneHealth Plus Journal are not simultaneously submitted to another journal and do not constitute duplicate or redundant publication. Reuse of substantial portions of an author's own previously published work without appropriate disclosure and citation may also be considered inappropriate.

Artificial Intelligence Policy

OneHealth Plus Journal recognizes that artificial intelligence and AI-assisted technologies are increasingly being used in academic research and scholarly communication. Authors may use AI-based tools for limited purposes such as language improvement, grammar correction, translation assistance, formatting, or improving the clarity of text, provided that the authors retain full responsibility for the submitted manuscript.

AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors because such tools cannot take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, originality, ethical compliance, or final approval of a scholarly publication. Authorship remains the responsibility of human contributors who have made qualifying intellectual contributions to the work.

Authors remain fully responsible for verifying all content generated or assisted by artificial intelligence. This includes factual statements, scientific interpretations, statistical explanations, citations, references, quotations, tables, figures, and other research-related information. AI-generated material may contain inaccurate information, fabricated references, unsupported claims, or other errors, and authors must independently verify such material before submission.

The use of AI tools must not result in plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, manipulation of data, inappropriate alteration of images, infringement of copyright, violation of confidentiality, or breach of research ethics. Authors should not upload confidential manuscripts, unpublished research data, personally identifiable information, patient information, proprietary material, or other sensitive content to external AI systems where doing so could compromise confidentiality or applicable legal or ethical obligations.

Where artificial intelligence has been used substantially in the preparation, analysis, generation, or modification of the manuscript or research materials, authors should provide a transparent disclosure describing the nature and purpose of the AI use. Routine use of AI-assisted tools for basic spelling, grammar, or language correction may not require detailed disclosure unless otherwise required by the journal.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate research data, generate false experimental results, create misleading images, manipulate research findings, or produce references that have not been independently verified. The use of AI does not reduce or transfer the authors' responsibility for the integrity of the research.

Editorial Use of Artificial Intelligence

The journal may use appropriate technological and AI-assisted tools as part of its editorial, administrative, plagiarism-screening, language-support, or publishing workflows. Any such use will be subject to appropriate confidentiality, security, and editorial safeguards. AI-assisted tools do not replace the responsibility of editors and reviewers to exercise independent academic judgment.

Compliance and Editorial Action

By submitting a manuscript to OneHealth Plus Journal, authors confirm that the manuscript complies with the journal's standards concerning originality, academic integrity, research ethics, and responsible use of artificial intelligence. The Editorial Office reserves the right to request clarification concerning the originality of submitted content or the use of AI-assisted technologies.

Where plagiarism, undisclosed inappropriate AI-generated content, fabricated references, manipulated data, falsified information, or other forms of misconduct are identified, the journal may reject the manuscript or take appropriate post-publication action. Such action may include withdrawal, correction, expression of concern, retraction, notification of relevant institutions, or other measures considered appropriate in accordance with established principles of publication ethics.

The ultimate responsibility for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and ethical compliance of every manuscript submitted to OneHealth Plus Journal rests with the authors.
